Overview
All 3rd party applications and add-ons used within Rensselaer's Office 365 environment must be reviewed to ensure compliance with Rensselaer policies and requirements for data security, privacy, accessibility, and licensing.

The following applications and add-ons are currently approved for self service- to add them to your RCS Account please visit the Self Service Tool. Once you request access you will receive an email confirmation.
- Apple Mail/Mac Mail
- Bing Maps for Excel
- Blackboard
- Box for Outlook and Teams
- Cisco Webex and Cisco WebEx Scheduler for Outlook and Teams
- FactSet for Excel
- MathType for Word and PowerPoint
- OnceHub (Staff/Faculty Only)
- Thunderbird
- WiseSheets for Excel
- Zoom
The following applications and add-ons are currently approved but need DotCIO to add the permissions to your RCS Account:
- Cronofy for Office 365 (Staff/Faculty Only)
The following applications have been reviewed and are not approved for use within our Office 365 environment, as they are non-compliant:
- Fetch Rewards
- Goodnotes
- Shop
- Fizz
For any application not listed above please submit a Software Review Request form to initiate a review. A vendor contact may be required to answer security questions. If the application requires a paid license please include the purchase order number or other procurement approval for the application in the request. The following will be considered when reviewing an application:
- Business use case of the application or add-on
- Permissions required by application or add-on
- If the application or add-on moves or copies data out of the Office 365 environment.
- If the application or add-on sells or otherwise shares data it has permission to 3rd parties.
Reviews typically take 5-7 business days but may take longer if information not readily available - a vendor contact may be required to answer security questions.
