Accessing RCS disk space using SecureFTP

Overview

How to connect to Rensselaer's RCS file servers using SFTP, you will need an SFTP client such as FileZilla or WinSCP.

Procedures

After downloading and installing your SFTP client, connect to a "site" using the following parameters:

1. File protocol (WinSCP) or Logon Type (Filezilla): SFTP
2. Host name: rcs.rpi.edu
3. Port number: 22
4. User name: <your-RCS-userid> (for example, lincoa16)
5. Password: <your RCS-userid password>

You will have the option of saving this setup for future use.  If you do not save the password, the system will prompt you to enter it every time you wish to connect.
