Overview
This article will provide you with the steps on how to set up a shared mailbox on a Mac in the Apple mail app.
Procedure
In Apple Mail App:
- Click on the Mail tab in the top left corner of screen
- Select Add Account
- Click Other Mail Account and then Continue
- In the next window enter the following information:
- Name: Enter whatever name you want for the shared mailbox
- Email Address: Enter full email address of shared mailbox (ex. sharedmailbox@rpi.edu)
- Password: Enter your RCS password
- Click Sign In (It will give you a warning that the password is incorrect, just ignore this)
- In the next window enter the following information:
- Email address: This should already be filled in (ex. sharedmailbox@rpi.edu)
- Username: Enter your RCS username preceded with win\ (ex. win\smithj)
- Password: Enter your RCS password
- Account Type: Choose IMAP
- Incoming Mail Server: Enter exchange.rpi.edu
- Outgoing Mail Server: Enter exchange.rpi.edu
- Click Sign In
- In the next window deselect Notes
- Click Done
You should now see the shared mailbox on the left side in the mail app with your other mailboxes.
