Overview
A Webex space can be created within a Blackboard course using the Webex LTI (Webex LTI 1.3) connector to create classroom collaboration.
This allows you to enable several Webex features within your course, automatically including all students with access to the course:
- Meetings
- Importing Other Recordings
- Office Hours
- Classroom Collaboration (access via the Webex App)
The new Webex LTI connection is a significant improvement over the prior Webex Education Connector/Webex LTI Legacy.

Details
Integrating Webex into a course consists of the following steps:
- Enable Webex by adding the Webex Tool to the course
- Set up the Webex LTI integration by selecting options
- Add Recurring and One-Time Meetings, if selected
- Import Recordings as needed
- Create Office Hours, if selected
- Customize Classroom Collaboration, if selected
Known Issues
Courses in Blackboard are often copied from past versions of the same course.
If a course is copied forward from a version prior to the Fall 2024 semester, it may contain a tool link to the old Webex Education Connector/Webex LTI Legacy integration. Attempting to use this tool will fail. Please see the following article to resolve the issue:
