Troubleshooting: Change Resolution of Video for Upload to Mediasite on Mac

Overview

Larger video resolution (ie full screen capture on a Mac) creates both larger video files and files that take a longer time for the Mediasite system to process before they are ready. If a file is too large, it may not be able to be processed. We recommend transforming all screen captures made outside of the Mediasite Desktop Recorder (MDR) to 720p before uploading to Mediasite.

Procedures

1. Open the recording using the Quicktime Player.
2. Select File on the menu, then choose Export As and 720p....
3. Save the file and remember where you have saved it.
4. This new file will be smaller and of an appropriate size for uploading.
