Webex Meetings Attendance Grading in LMS

Overview

Faculty have the option to 'Turn on' Webex Meetings Attendance Grading when they set up the Webex Education Connector in a LMS course site. Enabling grading for Webex creates an assignment and automatically assigns a grade to every student based on their attendance to all Webex sessions that are scheduled within this course. The student must join via the Webex Education Connector Upcoming Courses Menu using the Desktop Client in order for their attendance to be recorded and calculated in the grade. This feature works well only for online-only, synchronous courses, and when you are not scheduling test Webex Meetings.

Procedures

How 'Webex Attendance Grading' works

When you enable grading in Cisco Webex Education Connector through the Setup tab, an assignment appears in the gradebook called "Webex Meetings Attendance Assignment."

The formula for calculating the grade is:

(Present score)*(total number of times student was present)+(absent score)*(total number of times student was absent)/(total number of meetings*present score)

What qualifies someone's attendance as 'present' for a meeting?

When someone joins a meeting using the Webex Education Connector through the LMS, their attendance is recorded. If someone joins Webex through a link outside of the LMS, their attendance is not recorded.

Setting up 'Webex Attendance Grading'

1. Login to LMS course site and go to the Setup tab for the Webex Education Connector
2. Scroll down to Webex Meetings Attendance Grading and click Turn on.
3. Read the disclaimer, and Confirm.
4.  Once enabled, the grading feature cannot be disabled.
