Symptoms
Webex Education Connector is the LMS tool which allows for Webex integration into your LMS course site. Users will sometimes receive the error: "Your webex authorization has expired. Please reauthorize webex." Users are unable to schedule new meetings, or complete other tasks when this error is displayed.
Resolution
Log out of Webex within the LMS Webex Education Connector, and then log back in. Please see the sections below for specific instructions for both the Classroom Collaboration tab and Virtual Meetings/Office Hours tabs. You may need to reauthorize both of these, as they use different parts of the Webex platform.
Reauthorizing the Classroom Collaboration tab
- To log out, click
in the upper-right corner of the Webex Education Connector to sign out of Webex Messaging.
- You will see a prompt on the screen to sign in with your Webex account to start. Click the Sign in with Webex button.
- If you have already logged in to Webex in another window, you may not be prompted for your email and login information. In that case, skip to step 5. Otherwise, enter your RPI email address (RCSID@rpi.edu) and click Sign In.
- Enter your RCSID as your username, and your password in the appropriate boxes, then click Login.
- You may see a dialog box stating that the Cisco Webex Education Connector is requesting permissions to manage your account. Please click Accept. If you have accepted these conditions recently, you may not see this.
- You should now be able to use Classroom Collaboration for Webex within your LMS course.

Cause
Webex sessions expire after several days of inactivity. Expiration will adversely effect functionality of the tool, specifically the syncing of Webex recordings in the course. We recommend that you sign out and sign back in to Webex from Webex Education Connector every few weeks to keep your session active. If your token expires, you're prompted to sign in to Webex Meetings the next time you access the Webex Education Connector.
