Overview
The Meeting Owl is an all-in-one 360° web camera, microphone & speaker. It enhances hybrid meetings by allowing remote and in-room participants to engage fully with each other. This article goes through first-time setup for this device.
Procedures
- If you have not yet requested a device account for connecting the Meeting Owl to the RPI WiFi, please submit a Support Request requesting a device account for your Meeting Owl.
- We need to ensure the software for the Meeting Owl is up to date before connecting to RPI WiFi.
- Go to https://owllabs.com/download
- Scroll down and select the appropriate download for your operating system or mobile device. You can use a computer/laptop or a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet. If using a Windows device to configure choose: Windows Direct Download (.exe)

- If using a computer/laptop, plug the Owl into power and then connect the Owl to the computer/laptop.
- If using a mobile device, you can scan for the Meeting Owl as a bluetooth device.
- If there is a software update, you will be prompted to download and install the update to the Meeting Owl.
- Once you are sure the Meeting Owl is updated with the latest software you can connect it to RPI WiFi. With the app click on Settings - Network Settings - select rpi_wpa2
- EAP Method - select TTLS
- Phase 2 Authorization - select MSCHAPV2
- CA Certificate - select Do Not validate
- Username and Anonymous identity fields - Enter the username of the device account in both username and anonymous identity fields
- Enter the password of the device account
- click Join
- The Meeting Owl is now setup and ready to use.
