Adding or Recording a New Video in Your LMS Course

Overview

Instructors can add any Mediasite video they own or that has been shared to them to their course. Additionally, they can launch the option to record a new video from within their course.

Procedures or Details

Adding an Existing Video

  1. In your course, add content to your course using the Content Market.
  2. In the list provided, find Mediasite Content and click to select it. Note there is no + for this item in the Content Market. Selecting it will launch a search in Mediasite.

  3. To ensure you are searching all presentations you are permitted to see, click the drop down for the Filter. Select Presentation, then select both My Items and Shared With Me, then click Apply.

  4. Use a search term that is targeted to the content you wish to add. Type in your search term, then click the magnifying glass to display results.

  5. From the list of search results, you can click to Link Video to the course page. Optionally you can select the box to add this channel to the default Mediasite Course Channel.

  6. Add as many videos as desired. Once added, videos will show as already linked.

Recording/Uploading a New Video to Add

  1. In your course, add content to your course using the Content Market.
  2. In the list provided, find Mediasite Content and click to select it. Note there is no + for this item in the Content Market. Selecting it will launch a search in Mediasite.

  3. Click Add New to either upload or record a new video to Mediasite to add it to your course.

    1. To record a new presentation

      1. Click Record, then fill in the information in the dialog box. This will use Mediasite Capture (Recording Video Using Mediasite Capture) to record the new presentation.

      2. When you are done recording, and return to LMS, please wait for the video to finish processing.

      3. Once the video has completed processing, you will be able to Link Video and optionally add it to your Course Channel as well.

    2. To upload a video

      1. When you click Upload File under Add Video, a system dialog box will be displayed. Navigate to the file you wish to upload and select it.
      2. When you are done uploading, please wait for the video to finish processing.

      3. Once the video has completed processing, you will be able to Link Video and optionally add it to your Course Channel as well.
