Overview

A common ARTS deployment is to support a reception desk or an advising hub. In that setup, a system running the ARTS - Agent application is set up in front (often in view of the "back office" staff). The event is set to run in "Deli Mode" - by turning on the "Daily Queue Enabled" switch on the main configuration page, and setting the event type to "Reception Desk". This is important to get the appropriate text stanza types and defaults.
Details
After a person taps in at the ARTS - Agent station. one or more of the "back office" staff who are running the ARTS - Deli application will see the person appear in the queue where they can "Claim" them (or Dismiss them). Presumably they claim someone, the do additional work the person. They may also provide additional information, like what was described in the ARTS - Agent document.
[ARTS Deli screen highlighting Refresh Controls, First Card in queue, and Second Card in queue]
At the top of the window, there are controls that let you refresh the page to see new entries (and let claimed ones go away). You can also turn on automatic refresh if desired. In this example, there are two entries in the queue and the back office agents can claim or dismiss (say the person leaves) the entry. This will result in a new window popping up:
[Process Entry showing attendee checked-in time on the ARTS Deli screen]
Like with the ARTS - Agent tool, you again are seeing the "Accepted" text stanza displayed. If the event is configured to ask for a reason, or a free text comment or designate a contact. There is also an option to allow this to be entered at the Agent session if that "works" from a process flow. Like the Tapper queue format can be set, the same page will let you set the "Agent Card". If you are prompting for "Reason", you really want to include that on the card display!
If you are using access control lists, you can use them to "filter" entries on a per agent basis. We can also explore setting up a "Reason" filter (like the ACL filter). The ability for people to select "Reason" in Deli Mode is new, so we haven't set up a filter here before.
System Notifications
Like with the ARTS - Agent, you can install this as an application. Once you do, you have some more options:
[Settings and Sign Out option from the profile menu]
On the pull down to the left of the user name (finkej in this case), a command box with a "Settings" option. Select that and you get the following:
[Push Notifications option under the settings feature]
With this, you can enable push notifications. Your system will want you to allow the new application (ARTS - Deli) to be able to access system notifications. You need to confirm that before this will take. Once you have set your system to allow this, you can turn it on or off whenever you want. Once you have enabled this, you likely need to configure it. If you are running a Mac, you would go into the systems settings and used the notification controls. They might look something like this:
[Notifications highlighted within the mac setting window]
I find it useful to set the mode to "Alerts" - so the alert will stay on the screen until you dismiss it. I also turn off "Summarize", but that is your choice. So, why did we go through all the extra steps? It means you don't need to be running the application. If someone taps in at the ARTS - Agent station, a system notification will pop up like this:
[A notification on the windows screen that someone tapped into the Agent station]
You can see in the upper right hand corner of the screen, a system notification, that explains what happened, and with whom, and when. This text is actually configured using the text stanza. The big win, is that you can just click on the notification, and the ARTS - Deli tool will open right away.
