IP Addresses and Domain Names

Overview

Hostmaster services include: Maintaining domain name to IP address mapping for user devices across campus; Maintaining the campus Domain Name Service (DNS).

The hostmaster function includes servicing requests from the campus community for IP names and addresses. Find out how you can obtain an IP address!

Please note that Rensselaer's hostmaster does not accept verbal or voicemail requests for IP addresses, so please submit an online request or e-mail.  Be sure to include all of the pertinent information in your IP request.
