Billing and Service Inquiries (Faculty and Staff Only)

Overview

Rensselaer faculty and staff who need to obtain wired Ethernet or wireless service must have an authorized department before they can do so. (Please refer to the Ethernet service cost information below for pricing.)

Details

To request Ethernet service, Submit an online request and choose "Work Order request for WiFi/Ethernet Installation" as the request category. In either case, please include the following information:

• Department contact name and phone number
• Department name
• Building and room number
• Account number to be charged
• Description of the type of work which needs to be done
• Whether or not an Ethernet jack is present in the room

It takes approximately ten business days to process orders.

Cost

Ethernet installations are $100 per drop for simple installations. More complex installs are based on time and materials.  Wireless installations will be quoted on an individual basis.
