Overview
What is Network Polling and why its done
Details
Information Technologies Infrastructure routinely polls its network in order to monitor the network's integrity and security, assist with any necessary problem resolution, and increase the network's general reliability and availability for Rensselaer network users.
Network polling is only done by Information Technologies Infrastructure authorized administrators. If you are not one of these authorized administrators, you are not authorized to poll the network. Please refer to Rensselaer's campus policy on electronic citizenship for more information.
The list below shows the networks normally used for polling. Official scans or polling come from hosts on these networks. Please note the list is subject to change without notice and does not include all networks that may be used for polling.
