Duo authentication and other web services are blocked in countries with sanctions enforced by Office of Foreign Asssets Control (OFAC)

Symptoms

Anyone visiting or currently residing in countries that are being sanctioned will be unable to use Duo Authentication. Microsoft 365 and Webex are also currently blocking access to services, and we expect other cloud based software are as well. These blocks are put in place the by the companies to comply with US law and we can not override.

OFAC restrictions relevant to Duo currently apply to the following countries or regions:

• Cuba (CU)
• North Korea (KP)
• Iran (IR)
• Sudan (SD)
• Syria (SY)
• Crimea region (43)
• Donetsk region (14)
• Luhansk region (09)
• Sevastopol region (40)
