Overview
This article provides you with instructions on how to make sure DCHP is enabled on your computer. DHCP allows for the automatic assigning of IP addresses and other communication parameters to devices on a network. This eliminates the need to configure devices manually.
Procedures
- Go to Control Panel
- View network status and tasks under Network and Internet
- Under View your active networks, Select Ethernet or Wifi under Connections (highlighted in blue), which ever you are connected to[Select your connection (Ethernet or wifi) to expand the window to retrieve details regarding the connection]
- Click on Details in the window that pops up
[Select details to open the network connection details where you can see whether or not DHCP is enabled] - Look to see if DHCP Enabled says Yes
