Overview
Forgetting a wireless network on your device is often necessary after a password change or a new certificate has been implemented. This article provides instructions on how to forget a wireless network on various operating systems and device types.
Procedures
Desktop/Laptop
- At the bottom right in the system tray, bring up the list of WiFi connections. (For Windows 11 - click on arrow key next to the WiFi symbol to show list of WiFi Connections
- Right click on the WiFi connection - then left click on Forget
- Bring up the list of WiFi connections again and click on the one to Connect
macOS
- At the top of your screen, click the Wi-Fi symbol and then select .
- In the lower right, choose .
- Under "Preferred Networks", select the Wi-Fi network to be removed.
- Click (the minus sign) to forget the network.
- Click .
Mobile Device - Android
- From the home screen, choose .
- In the settings menu, choose Network & Internet -
- From the home screen, choose .
- In the settings menu, choose .
- Locate the Wi-Fi network to be removed and click the blue symbol "i" next to the name.
- If the option to forget the network is available, tap
- From the home screen, choose .
- In the settings menu, choose .
- Locate and tap .
- Select the profile for Wi-Fi network to be removed, and tap .
