VPN Mobile Device - Android

Overview

How to install the Rensselaer's VPN on an Android device.

Procedures

Note:  You can not be on the RPI WiFi to install this.

Duo Mobile will first need to be configured:

Downloading and Connect to the VPN:

1. Swipe up from the bottom and be sure to select your Work profile
2. Open the Cisco AnyConnect App and Click on OK to accept the End User License Agreement
3. Tap Connections, then Add New VPN Connection
4. Type in the following:
   • Description:  RPI VPN (just a suggestion)
   • Server Address:  vpn.net.rpi.edu (for Faculty/Staff) vpn.stu.rpi.edu (for Students)
   • Advanced Preferences: Don't make any changes
5. Click Done and click the back arrow < button located in the top left corner.
6. To the right of AnyConnect VPN, move the slider from Off to On
7. A pop-up window appears, type in the following:
   • Group:  Leave as RensselaerSSLVPN
   • Username:  Your RCS ID 
   • Password:  Your RCS password
   • Second Password: Either type the word: push and go to Duo Mobile app to follow prompt to Approve

OR Go to Duo Mobile, refresh code and enter 6 digit code

10. Click Connect and then click Ok in the Connection Request pop-up

11. You are now connected to the VPN.

Disconnect from the VPN:

1. To the right of AnyConnect VPN, move the slider button to the left to Off and it should show Disconnected.
