Overview
Every course in Blackboard has an automatically generated Mediasite course channel. This channel can be accessed and maintained through MyMediasite.
This is different from the channel created by Multimedia Services when a course is recorded in classroom. However, material can be moved from the MMS-created channel to the automatically generated course channel to keep everything in one place.
Procedures or Details

Adding material to the Mediasite Course Channel
By default, the channel has no material to view. You will need to add videos in order for them to be accessible to students. Any presentations you have access to in Mediasite--either ones you have recorded/uploaded or ones shared with you by the Multimedia Services Teams--may be added to your course channel.
- In the Course Content page, click on your channel name to launch it.
- You will automatically be authenticated to Mediasite and the channel will be loaded. The first time you access the channel, it will be empty.
- To add a presentation or presentations, click on the Add Presentation button.
- From here, you will be able to either record a new presentation which will be saved in your channel, or select from presentations you own or which have been shared with you.
-
To record a new presentation
- Click Record, then fill in the information in the dialog box. This will use Mediasite Capture (Recording Video Using Mediasite Capture) to record the new presentation.
- When you are done recording, and return to LMS, please wait for the video to finish processing.

- Click Record, then fill in the information in the dialog box. This will use Mediasite Capture (Recording Video Using Mediasite Capture) to record the new presentation.
-
To add an existing presentation
- The default filter is restricted to presentations you own. To see presentations which have been shared with you, such as classroom recordings, select Shared With Me under Owner, then click Apply.
- As a large number of results may be returned, we highly recommend utilizing the Search bar to search for a specific phrase within the title of the presentation you are seeking. Click Add next to the presentation(s) you wish to add to your channel.
- Once a presentation has been added to your channel, it will show in the search results tagged as Added and there will not be an Add button available.
- The presentation will appear in your channel after being added. Sometimes there is a delay between adding and when it appears due to processing on the server. It should not take longer than 5-10 minutes.
- The default filter is restricted to presentations you own. To see presentations which have been shared with you, such as classroom recordings, select Shared With Me under Owner, then click Apply.
