Overview
With students accessing Mediasite from around the world, it is sometimes necessary to enable presentations for offline viewing. The student can download a vodcast of the presentation, and view it offline at their own convenience.
The capability to enable to downloads is not granted by default, and must be requested.
Procedures
Requesting the Ability to Enable Vodcast Downloads
If you do not already have access to enable Vodcast downloads, please submit a support request.
- Submit a support request.
- Please provide your RCSID and explain that you need the ability to enable Vodcast downloads for your MyMediasite presentations.
Your request should be responded to within one business day.
Enabling a Vodcast Download for a Mediasite Presentation
- Login to https://mediasite.mms.rpi.edu/mediasite5/MyMediasite with your RCSID and password.
- From your list of presentations, select the presentation for which you would like to enable a Vodcast download.
- Once the presentation is open, click Edit Details.

- Next, click on Edit Details for your project again.
- Scroll down and click on the Player tab:

Enabling a Channel to Allow Downloads
If you are sharing your presentations using a Mediasite Channel, you can set your Channel to display a download icon, if a download is available for a presentation.
- Login to https://mediasite.mms.rpi.edu/mediasite5/MyMediasite with your RCSID and password.
- Select the Channel from your list of available Channels.
- Click Edit.
