NX - "NX Licensing Error" - "UGS_LICENSE_BUNDLE environment variable is set incorrectly"

Symptoms

Your copy of Siemens NX used to open successfully, but after 6/8/2021 you now receive the following error when trying to run the software:

NX Licensing Error

There are no licenses available.

Either you are out of licenses or the UGS_LICENSE_BUNDLE environment variable is set incorrectly.  Please select File --> Utilities --> Select Bundles to properly set a license bundle or File --> Exit to shut down NX.

Resolution

The bundle settings for Siemens NX need to be updated using the following steps:

1. Close NX if it is open.
2. Click on the Start Menu and open Siemens NX > Tool - Licensing Tool.
3. When the Siemens PLM Software Licensing Tool opens click on Bundle Settings.
4. Under the Available Bundles column, highlight one of the bundles and click on the right arrow to add it to the Applied Bundles.
5. Do the same thing with the second bundle listed in the Available Bundles.
6. Click on Apply.
7. Close the Siemens PLM Software Licensing Tool window.
8. Restart NX.

Cause

The licensing variables were changed by the vendor.
