Overview
The Teams add-in in outlook is an add in that allows you to create full teams meetings in Outlook. These meetings have all the features of a regular teams meeting with all of the benefits of creating them in Outlook. This add in is automatically installed but sometimes runs into issues with activation. Below are steps in order to use the Add in and confirm it works.
Procedures
NOTE: If you have never opened Microsoft Teams before you need to open and login to this application first.
1. Open Outlook -> Home -> New Items -> Meeting
2. Once in the meeting, the below hot bar should appear for you:
[Teams meeting Icon in creation of a new meeting]
3. Once there, you are able to click the drop down menu and hit the Schedule Meeting button to add a Teams Meeting to your invite.
If the schedule meeting button does not appear, try the below steps to resolve the issue:
1. File - > Options -> Add-ins -> Manage: COM Add-ins -> Go
[Location of COM Add-ins under options]
2. Click on the Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office
[COM Add-ins location for adding / removing add ins in outlook]
3. Check the location underneath. It should be pointing to the below folder:
C:\Users\RCSID\AppData\Local\Microsoft\TeamsMeetingAdd-in\1.24.31301\x64\Microsoft.Teams.MeetingAddinLoader.dll
4. If the add-in is not currently pointing to that path, you can select Remove. Select Add -> Navigate to the above folder and select the .dll file.
5. Once added it should load, make sure to fully restart outlook and your computer to fully activate the Teams Add-in.
6. You may also need to launch Microsoft Teams to have it fully load properly.
If these steps don't work, next steps would be to repair Office 365 and the teams application.

On the right hand side, there are three dots. Click those and you will have the option to Modify / Uninstall. If you select Modify, it will allow you to repair either teams or the office suite. If you select Uninstall, it will uninstall the apps completely.
You can also find the add in installed under add / remove programs:

Here, the add in can be repaired as well as uninstalled.
These fixes should resolve your issues involving Microsoft Teams and the associated Add-in.
