Overview
Cisco Jabber is designed to be used off campus for a remote phone system. There is a one time cost of $100 per user licensing fee. If interested, please have the department Business Manager submit a Support Request via https://itssc.rpi.edu for additional information. Once, the request is approved it can take up to 10 business days to be completed.
Once approved for licensing, this article will provide you with the steps on how to install Cisco Jabber and how to navigate around it.
Important Notice - 911 Calls
Do not use Jabber for 911 calls. 911 calls rely on location data to route the call and provide a rapid response. Jabber isn’t designed to track and provide precise details about your location, and therefore should NOT be used for emergency calls. Please use a mobile device with cellular data for emergency calls, a land line, or a desk phone on campus.
