Mobile Device - Android using Outlook app

Overview

How to configure Outlook for Exchange Online for Android device.

Procedures 

To Install and configure Outlook:

1. Go to the Play Store - search Outlook
2. Microsoft Outlook - tap Install
3. When done installing - tap Open
4. Tap - Add Account
5. RPI email Office 365 is found - tap Continue
6. If Microsoft password prompt - enter RPI email password - tap Sign In
7. Accept Duo if prompted - wait for the Success screen to process and clear on its own
8. Activate device administrator - tap ACTIVATE
9. Outlook Device Policy - tap Activate this device admin app
10. Prompt to add another account - Tap MAYBE LATER

11. Update your email signature:

    • Tap on Office 365 in upper left
    • Tap settings at bottom left
    • Scroll down to Signature - tap in box where it says Get Outlook for Android
    • Remove that text and add preferred signature
12. Sync contacts
    • From home screen Settings
    • Applications or Apps & notifications
    • May need to tap see all apps
    • Scroll to Outlook
    • Permissions - Contacts - Allow
    • Open Outlook app
    • Tap upper left next to Inbox
    • Tap settings lower right
    • Tap on mail account
    • Toggle Sync contacts on
13. You may want to turn off Focused Inbox:

To remove RPI email from Outlook:

1. Tap on Office 365 in upper left
2. Tap settings at bottom left
3. Under Mail Accounts - tape Office 365 RPI email
4. Scroll down and tap Delete Account
5. Optional: Uninstall Outlook app
